Inlet Air Treatment

Peerless Inlet Air Treatment products are used on military and commercial ships, by the offshore industry and rail operators to protect equipment and reduce maintenance costs.

Single Stage System

Our marine louvres serve engine room, crew and passenger ventilation systems, excluding virtually any spray, mist or rain to provide quality shipboard air intake.

The sophisticated profile of the louvre vanes creates a high profile performance:

• High moisture removal efficiency
• Pressure drop is significantly lower than conventional marine louvres or baffles
• Resistance to the marine environment ensures a long-term ‘fit and forget’ lifespan.

Two Stage System

Our two-stage system protects salt sensitive equipment in offshore HVAC systems and marine air intake ventilation by integrating inertial separator vanes with Advanced PC-3A coalescer panels in two versions, offering:

• Light/aerosol or heavy moisture entrainments accommodated by Type CV or Type VC
• Lower pressure drop coefficients than the Compact – Three Stage
• Protects equipment that could suffer from sulphidation corrosion.

System 200

Our System 200 serves offshore platforms and coastal locations, protecting gas turbines and high speed diesel engines by removing all levels of harmful salt moisture entrainment and significant particulate, particularly at platform level. The integration of inertial separation vanes with an extended surface filter/coalescer forms the second stage of a three-stage system, achieving:

• High filtration performance against particulate entrainments
• Capability in a rising relative humidity situation, where the retained salt crystals deliquesce into liquid drop form
• Efficient salt separation at relative humidity levels below 70%.

Compact - Three Stage (Vane-Coalescer-Vane) System

Our three-stage system serves the world’s naval forces and marine operators protecting gas turbines and high speed diesel engines by removing salt entrainments in a wide range of intake environments. The integration of inertial separation vanes with a coalescing device achieves a high performance:

• A low pressure drop through the separator ensures maximum power ratings with all gas turbines and high-speed diesel engines
• High efficiency performance achieves low salt in air levels
• Suitable for a wide range of intake environments from green seas to aerosol droplets.

Compact II - Three Stage (Vane-Coalescer-Vane) System

Our Compact II has been developed using CFD modelling to provide the same high performance as the Compact but with less than half the traditional inlet face area:

• Eliminates the need for large plenum configurations on gas turbine driven ships
• Designed to significantly reduce separator face area and weight in comparison to the Compact System
• Supplied in marine grade aluminium alloy or stainless steel.

Rail Vehicle Protection System

Our RVP system offers complete protection against rainwater intrusion and massive water impingement for cooling air ducts used on sensitive electronic control systems, traction equipment and air conditioning plant.
• A low pressure drop coefficient ensuring minimal obstruction to cooling airflow
• Corrosion free materials that ensure a long lifespan
• No day-to-day maintenance.

Retrofit and Spares

Peerless’ proven coalescer and filter technology in Advanced Marine Systems is available to retrofit existing applications where superior performance is crucial.
The replaceable, cleanable coalescers and removable pocket filter/coalescers incorporated in Peerless multistage separators are available as replacements and spares for:

• Shipboard Installations. - eliminating expensive shipboard gas turbine and diesel engine problems caused by salt and moisture
• Offshore Installations - protecting costly offshore platform prime movers and HVAC systems
• Coastal Installations – combating the moisture and solid particulate environment.

Composite Louvres

Peerless' Composite Louvre System provides a non-corrosive, lightweight weather louvre with an optional radar cross section (RCS) feature. The composite materials are inherently non-corrosive and are also much lighter in weight than conventional stainless steel construction. The patented assembly system utilises pultruded profiles that are machined to form interlocking parts that are bonded together to form the desired size of louvre. This process, as opposed to a moulded process, allows us to make a wide variety of sizes by changing the length of components while using the same method of assembly. Several optional extras are available such as an integrated stainless steel FOD screen and anti-icing coatings.
